I began my journey with historical clothing, over 20 years ago, when my mother gave me an old treadle sewing machine. I now own many of these wonderful machines, and I design and create all of my clothing on them, keeping your experience pure to the period.

My Living History Programs have been featured at public schools, as well as home schools, National Parks, Museums, Art Galleries, State Parks, and private events. I offer a wide range of programs such as Dutch oven cooking demonstrations, soap making, fashion programs, sewing demonstrations, renditions of historical events, and children’s games, just to name a few.

I am considered a recognized historical presenter, which helps with securing grant funding.

My expansive professional experience as a living historian is truly broad, and I am delighted to have earned sincere accolades from the National Park Service for my captivating programs. As a seasonal Park Ranger, I completed training in Interpretive Studies, which covered Informal Visitor Contacts, Foundations of Interpretation, EEO and Accessibility within the National Park Service, and Facilitated Dialogue Training. These insightful training opportunities, combined with my profound zeal for educational pursuits, have played a significant role in shaping and advancing Indian Creek Historical Fashions.

I had the wonderful opportunity to share my passion for history with my children by involving them in the same programs I performed. Together, we were even featured in two historical documentaries filmed in St. Joseph, Missouri. One documentary, "Days of Civil War," delved into the impact of the Civil War on the city, including a tragic train wreck near St. Joseph and its consequences on the local community.

The second film, "Days of the Pony Express," showcased the challenges faced by the courageous young men who established the Pony Express and revolutionized the U.S. mail system. My contribution to both documentaries involved creating period-accurate clothing using my treadle sewing machines, as the Director aimed for authenticity in every detail. It was a truly rewarding experience for all of us, and we had a blast immersing ourselves in the rich history of the St. Joseph community. Our Victorian attire added an extra touch of authenticity to the documentaries, bringing the past to life in a vibrant and engaging way.

I have also had the opportunity to share my love for living history on various media platforms, such as Pure Nebraska, the Beatrice Daily Sun, KQ2 T.V. in St. Joseph Missouri, and other well-known media outlets. Through these platforms, I've emphasized the importance of living history and how the insights from yesteryears still influence our present-day lives. In these appearances, I strive to bring the past alive in a vibrant and engaging manner, sparking curiosity and appreciation for historical fashion and lifestyles.

Living history programs provide a unique opportunity for participants to immerse themselves in historical experiences and gain a deeper understanding of the past. Participating in living history programs allows individuals to engage with history in a hands-on and interactive way. This experiential learning approach helps to foster a deeper connection and appreciation for the past, as participants can see, hear, and even touch the artifacts and settings of the past. By actively participating in historical reenactments and role-playing activities, individuals can develop a more comprehensive understanding of different perspectives, social dynamics, and events that shaped our world. By interacting with costumed interpreters and engaging in hands-on activities, individuals can learn about the customs, traditions, and social dynamics of the Victorian era memorably and interactively.

I am a true storyteller at heart, and I have learned over the years, that providing not only education, but humor and laughter into my programs, visitors become more engaged, and the whole experience becomes more personable. My exciting, and interactive Living History programs are sure to delight people of all ages. Experience the magic of living history programs that transport you back in time, connecting you with the elegance of the past. History is a passion of mine and I enjoy sharing that passion with others.

I have had the opportunity to share my delightful living history programs in states such as Iowa, Kansas, Missouri, and Nebraska.
